Professional Recognition Awards  

The deadline for nominations for the 2024 Professional Recognition Awards is March 15, 2024.

The Annual Professional Recognition Awards Program promotes excellence in museum operations by recognizing outstanding achievement by member organizations and individuals. 

CATEGORIES

Institutional Award of Excellence – To a museum that has exhibited leadership qualities by achieving excellence in its work, including in the areas of collection, preservation, research, interpretation, and education.

Individual Award of Excellence – To an individual who has exhibited leadership qualities by achieving excellence in his or her work in a museum, including in the areas of collection, preservation, research, interpretation, and education.

Community Support Award– To an individual or organization (museum or non-museum) whose activities have eminently enhanced the standing or image of Arizona's museums or have otherwise contributed to their growth.

Roger Lidman Distinguished Service Award -- To an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to an individual museum, the museum profession, the local community, to Arizona, to MAA, and/or to other professional organizations, recognizing  a recent milestone or a lengthy career.

NOMINATION PROCESS

The deadline for nominations for the 2024 Professional Recognition Awards is March 15, 2024.

The MAA Awards Committee invites you to submit nominations for awards in any or all of the categories listed above for any size institution. You may nominate yourself or your institution.   Institutional and Individual Awards of Excellence are open to current MAA members only.    Nominations for the Community Support Award or the Roger Lidman Distinguished Service Award must be made by current MAA members.

To nominate an individual or institution, please name the nominee and provide a narrative why that person or institution meets the criteria set out for the award. Please submit nominations to:
