Museums with a culture of evaluation deliberately work to fulfill their mission better, but there are many challenges museum professionals face when tasked with evaluation, including the lack of time, training, and erratic institutional support. How can museum staff at small and mid-sized institutions build an evaluation plan and create systems that close the feedback loop when evaluation is only one small part of your job? We will explore strategies for integrating evaluation principles in your work, draft manageable and actionable plans for your museum, and discuss how to face challenges along the way.

The webinar will be led by DeDee Ludwig-Pralit has worked at the intersection of informal learning, research, and communication for over 25 years. She is a researcher at Inform Evaluation and Research, where she specializes in program evaluation, visitor studies, and educational research for museums and other informal learning institutions. Previously she ran DeDee Ludwig Consulting, LLC where she provided services related to evaluation, user experience research, and digital learning. DeDee is the former Vice President of Public Engagement at the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and has also held leadership roles in the education departments of the Museum of Science and Industry, the Adler Planetarium, and the Shedd Aquarium.
